Landscape Architect, Runway Group

Job Description

Runway is seeking an experienced Landscape Architect to join the team and support the development of commercial and recreational projects in Northwest Arkansas.

About the Position
You’ll join a top-notch team and work as part of a design team to create, plan and manage outdoor recreation projects through the Northwest Arkansas area.

What you will do
You will be responsible for executing plans to develop construction projects related to recreation projects. This is a team-oriented position that will encompass all aspects of project management including managing budgets, communication with stakeholders, and report on project progress.

Responsibilities

Planning and Design
• Work collaboratively with Project and Design Manager and other team members in concept creation, planning and management of projects
• Produce conceptual graphics to convey land use, character and design intent
• Conduct research and help generate innovative ideas for a wide variety of outdoor focused projects
• Analyze and identify future park, greenspace, recreational and trail needs
• Coordinate communication between design consultants, contractors and internal team members
• Collaborate with departments across Walton Enterprises to provide coordinated support: legal, communications, real estate, etc. to work through challenges and provides options for solutions
• Source design ideas and create idea boards and story boards for team consideration
• Present creative solutions and innovative design ideas to team members

Construction
• Track project budget, changes and schedule and report project progress to Project and Design Manager
• Manage regular communications with the project team and conduct follow-up site visits as needed to ensure that the project is progressing according to the approved project plans and design intent
• Produce field reports and punch lists as needed
• Ensure all commissioning activities are completed and turned over to Operations
• Ensure all warranties, operating manuals; certificates of completion and as-built drawings have been delivered to Operations

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture or urban planning
• Minimum 5+ years documented experience in the field of urban planning, landscape architecture or architectural design
• Knowledge and experience supporting projects, tracking of deliverables and managing all aspects of a project from inception to completion is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively among various teams, and projects
• Strong quantitative, problem solving and time management skills
• Proficient in creating and tracking development schedules, budgets and overall project management
• Ability to execute strategic plans and program initiatives to meet goals
• Knowledge of the commercial construction process and field construction
• Experience in managing and design and construction of parks, trails and other outdoor recreation projects
• Experience using ArcMap, Auto Cad, Adobe Photoshop, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications as well as other related programs
