We are aviators and aviation enthusiasts looking to share our joy of exploration and adventure through backcountry flying in the Ozarks. Our goal is to expand the aviation community by making flying accessible. We aim to introduce members to new experiences.
What you will do:
OZ1 is looking for a Director to commence duties during the creation process of the club and continue to oversee all daily operations of the social flying club. This person will ensure the efficient and safe operation of all flying club aspects while upholding an excellent standard of customer service. The Director will report to the trustees and board.
Duties to include:
Organization and execution of documentation to adhere to 501c7 status (social club)
Conduct board and committee meetings as required to adhere to 501c7 status
Management of all insurance needed for aircraft or other club activities
Oversee aircraft selection and purchase process in conjunction with board of directors or assigned committee
Manage all financial aspects of the club including setting of usage rates, collecting dues and providing records to accountant
Manage daily operations including airplane scheduling and maintenance
Build marketing plan for member recruitment and community outreach to promote general aviation
Establish and maintain relationships or partnerships other flying clubs and professional organizations
Ensure club members are appropriately rated and current for aircraft rental
Supervise a support team to be determined at the recommendation of the Director
Manage access to club lounge, club events and all other club benefits.
Supervise and revise member vetting process and coordinate with vetting committee
Oversee execution of club event calendar including member training, safety seminars, charity flights and celebrations

Preferred Skills:
Instrument rated pilot (single engine land)
FAA Certified Flight Instructor with Instrument (CFII) **example
CFI able to perform club check outs and BFR for club members
Hospitality Industry and Customer Service experience
Knowledge of the FLY OZ airstrips and local area
Familiar with the KVBT community
Passionate about aviation
Basic Qualifications
Rated Pilot
Associates/Bachelors degree from accredited institution in Aviation, Management or related field
Supervisory skills including hiring, performance management, training and development
Business Development and Financial Management
Marketing and Brand Management
Strong knowledge of aircraft and airport operations including scheduling software
