Advertising Sales Executive - leisurlist

Who we are
Leisurlist is a mobile app/website that brings together everything to eat, see and do in Northwest Arkansas including events, venues and insider recommendations.

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting and independent Advertising Sales Executive to locate, develop and maintain advertiser relationships for leisurlist. A key element to success in this role will be deep knowledge of the Northwest Arkansas business community, especially small businesses, and a desire to build and maintain relationships with advertisers, not just one sale.

What you’ll do

You will review the advertising goals, develop a plan for reaching those goals within the set time frame, build out a pipeline of potential partners and regularly update that pipeline and our capabilities presentation with the latest numbers. You will regularly work with the team to ensure that advertising partners are a good fit for the leisurlist audience and identify new opportunities as they arise. You will not only seek out new business opportunities but also maintain relationships with existing partners and continue to grow opportunities with those legacy partners.

• You will have key responsibility in business development with a specific emphasis on relationship building
• You will identify trendsetter ideas by researching and attending local industry events, publications and announcements that are relevant to leisurlist
• You will locate business opportunities by contacting potential partners and exploring opportunities
• You will develop negotiation strategies and work with the advertiser to ensure that mutual benefit is achieved for all parties
• You will close new business deals by coordinating content requirements with the advertiser, developing contracts and coordinating payment
• You will enhance the organization’s reputation by bringing new and different ideas to the table and exploring opportunities to add value, which could include research and identification of expansion opportunities

• You have proven ability to create, manage and execute a sales plan with a positive attitude and trustworthy demeanor.
• You are an organized individual who will maintain an organized sales pipeline, communication with advertisers and updates for the leisurlist team on sales goals.
• You have significant market knowledge in this region, especially when it comes to small businesses and events.
• You possess great presentation skills, professionalism and a passion for doing the best thing for leisurlist and our partners and continuing to grow Northwest Arkansas.
• You have the ability to take our analytics and create reports, case studies and presentations that persuade potential advertisers.
• You are an outgoing individual who enjoys engaging in local events in the region, part of the job will require occasional nights and weekends where you will attend events on behalf of leisurlist.
• You have some skillset in creative writing as we are a small team and you may have to contribute to writing advertising pieces, especially for annual partner advertising relationships.
• You work well as an individual and with a team, understanding that on a small team you will occasionally have to perform tasks that are outside of your traditional job description.

Additional Information

This role is a full-time (40 hour per week) salaried position with commission based upon sales results.

Basic Qualifications

• 4-year degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations or related field
• 2-4 years sales experience (preferred experience in media sales if possible)
• Demonstrated proficiency with motivation for sales, closing skills, prospecting skills, sales planning, market knowledge, presentation skills, professionalism, delivering results
• Excellent communications skills (oral, written, visual) and the ability to influence others
