About the Position
Walton Enterprises (WEI) seeks a skilled, highly motivated professional to join the political and communications team as an advocacy coordinator, reporting to the Political and Communications Manager. The position will be based in Washington D.C.

What you will do
A new position for this exciting and entrepreneurial organization, the advocacy coordinator will work with our team on assignments across a range of bipartisan priorities. You will coordinate with colleagues on integrated programs, maintain contacts and track political issues, conduct research and produce briefings for senior executives.

Specific Responsibilities
• Conduct research on state and local legislation and regulations on key policy and political issues and candidates.
• Support multifaceted political and advocacy programs.
• Track political engagement and maintain key contact databases.
• Prepare executive briefing documents and research papers on key issues.
• Assist with political analysis, strategic planning and communications initiatives to advance advocacy goals.
• Participate in meetings with key stakeholders, advocacy partners and senior internal and external leaders.
• Work with the Senior Policy Officer and Political and Communications Manager to implement systems and processes to improve organizational fluency around key issues.

Qualifications required for your succes
• 2-4 years of experience working in public affairs and/or advocacy/campaign roles
• Expressed interest in political work and engagement
• Ability to react quickly and work against tight deadlines
• Strong oral and written communications and presentation skills
• Ability to coordinate with project teams
