Marketing Director

Job Description

About the Position
The Allied Mission is to make the finest bicycles on Earth. We build them in the United States from the ground up: from design to engineering to manufacturing. We are seeking a seasoned marketing professional with a strong outdoor industry or cycling industry background with significant experience in building a premium brand in a start-up environment.

This position will be based in Rogers, AR. Occasional domestic travel will be required– primarily to industry expos and events.

You will report to the CEO and will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the business.

What you will do
Allied has been in existence for four years. In this time, we’ve made tremendous progress as a manufacturer of world-class bicycle frames, particularly in the gravel market. Given the momentum we have with our Able and Allroad models, the time is perfect for us to become sharper than ever with our brand positioning and marketing communications strategy. The Marketing Director will be the leader of this effort. Success will reveal itself through significantly increased Allied brand awareness, purchase consideration and revenue. Online traffic and other key web metrics will sit alongside dealer base growth as key indicators of success in this effort.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary steward of the Allied brand. You will ensure that our brand proposition and values are perfectly articulated, that they’re fully understood within the company, and that they’re crystal-clear to the market as a whole. You will be the guardian of all forms of brand expression – photography, video, words, website and PR/Media.
• Own all aspects of content. This includes content strategy, scheduling and execution. You will own the decisions on what types of content we create, its subject matter, the cadence of new content creation, and our optimal channel mix. You will own responsibility for the quality of the content created by our producers, and overall content engagement in the marketplace.
• Design and deliver a robust marketing communications plan. You will develop an overall strategy across paid, earned and PR/Media. You will be responsible for the consistency and quality of all media. You will set web traffic goals by channel and use this plan to meet these crucial objectives.
• Manage marketing-focused third-party relationships. This includes paid media strategy consultants, PR agencies, creatives and others essential in getting the Allied message out in the world. You will own objective-setting for these third-parties, and the quality and timeliness of their work.
• Design and ensure quality execution of key events. This includes Allied presence at expos at mass participation ride events such as the Mid South and the Big Sugar. In addition, you will be responsible for orchestrating one annual marquee dealer event held in NW Arkansas.
• Build and adhere to an annual marketing budget that delivers against overall company growth objectives.
• Build a KPI dashboard for critical marketing metrics and report the results on a regular basis.
