Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as Counsel – Investments and Commercial Transactions. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to support stakeholders in a transaction-based role.
About the Position
You’ll join a top-notch team and provide legal counsel to the Principals and associates of Walton Enterprises. You will focus primarily on investment and commercial transactions.
What you will do
You will work across the family office, with a particular focus on venture investments and general corporate matters.
Responsibilities
• Advise the team on a broad range of corporate transactional matters, including venture capital investments, debt instruments, etc.
• Draft and negotiate various agreements, including investment documents, side letters, vendor contracts, and confidentiality agreements
• Engage and manage external counsel to address substantive legal, regulatory, and business issues as they arise
• Handle a wide variety of other day-to-day demands and workflow from a sophisticated family office

Qualifications required for your success
• JD from a top-tier law school
• 6+ years of experience as a corporate/transactional attorney, including experience in mergers & acquisitions and venture capital transactions
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

About the Legal Department
The Walton Enterprises legal team provides legal advice to the Walton family and its interests in several areas. These areas include estate planning, compliance, investment activity, asset acquisition, and charitable efforts. In addition to the family, the legal team also advises the Walton Family Foundation, each family member’s individual foundations, and each family member’s for-profit entities.
