Associate - Family Advisory

Job Description

Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated individual to join the team as a Family Advisor Associate. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to support the team in developing and communicating financial planning and strategy information.

About the Position
You’ll join a top-notch team and be responsible for financial modeling, strategic advisory, financial planning presentation development, and direct private investment activities across all asset classes including social impact, venture capital, equity, debt, real estate, and infrastructure investments.

What you will do
As a crucial member of FAST, you will report to a Family Advisory Managing Director who will work with you to:

• Provide financial modeling and analysis to support wealth advisory guidance, including capital allocation, financial forecasts, tax and estate planning, liquidity management, and investment strategy
• Develop templates for a variety of financial analysis models, including cash flow models, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
• Develop and produce presentation materials to communicate various financial planning and strategy information to our Executive Principals
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to support closely held businesses or direct private investment opportunities
• Provide ongoing monitoring and oversight of existing investment assets, including analyzing financial figures received, responding to follow-on capital raises and other corporate actions, and exiting investments
• Inform business advisory recommendations for majority-owned or substantially controlled businesses
• Assist the team with subject matter research as it relates to specific family member requests, investment/business activities, and special projects
• Be prepared to professionally communicate with our Executive Principals both proactively and reactively as appropriate, in order to ensure a high‐quality standard of service and support
• Perform other duties as required and necessary to accomplish goals and objectives

Who we are looking for

Qualifications required for your success
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or related field
• 2+ years of proven work experience in finance-related field
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

Additional Helpful Experience Includes
• A course in financial modeling for investments
• Experience at an investment bank, commercial bank, consulting firm, or investment manager
• Progress towards or plans to pursue an advanced degree in Finance or Business (such as an MBA), or professional investment certification (CFA, CAIA, CFP) a plus

Hiring Process
After an initial screening interview with a member of our HR team, qualified candidates will be invited (on a rolling basis until the position is filled) to complete a substantial take-home case study designed to assess the degree to which they meet the basic qualifications for the role. Candidates who successfully complete the case study will be invited to a round of interviews with the FAST team.

About the Family Advisory Services Department
The Family Advisory Services Team (F.A.S.T.) works with the family principals to provide strategic advice and counsel across financial planning, business development, staffing, office operations, and personal matters. F.A.S.T. serves as a liaison between the Walton family households and Walton Enterprises. The team has members based in both Denver, Colorado and Bentonville, Arkansas.

Basic Qualifications
