Assistant Site Manager, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve

The Peel Compton Foundation (PCF), a premiere and growing nonprofit organization, located in Bentonville, AR is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as the site manager for Coler Mountain Bike Preserve. PCF owns and operates the Peel Mansion & Heritage Gardens, Compton Gardens & Conference Center, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park (coming soon in 2021). The uniting mission for these diverse properties is to connect the community through nature, education, recreation and preservation. The Peel Compton Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

About the Position
You'll join a top-notch team, be a partner to the Site Manager and support all aspects of operational excellence and management for The Peel Compton Foundation. You will play an integral role in the day to day operations of Coler. This an opportunity for an individual that takes pride in the maintenance and appearance of the ~300-acre property. The preserve is accessible 365 days a year and requires execution of a robust operation and maintenance plan.

Responsibilities

General:
• Assist leading and executing the day-to-day operations and management of Coler Mountain Bike Preserve inclusive of all property elements, work closely with the Site Manager for alignment of goals and objectives.
• Operate as a second in command and fill in duties of Site Manager when needed.

Operations:
• Follow the operations and maintenance plan for Coler including all cycling and non-cycling infrastructure, grounds and facilities, prioritizing experience and safety.
• Maintain appearance of the grounds. This includes mowing, vegetation trimming, periodic replacement of location-specific plantings, pesticide application, litter removal, and clean-up after weather events.
• Maintain cleanliness and operation of facilities including restrooms, signage, furniture, bike repair stations, etc.
• Ensure excellent customer service in all aspects of the camping experience – staff coverage, booking, check-in, clean-up, safety and security.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance of existing soft surface trails and Greenway trails including all appurtenances to ensure the cycling experience is consistent with the vision of excellence set forth by the funders and complies with (or exceeds) cycling industry standards for experience and safety.
• Effectively provide verbal and written communication.
• Provide as needed all set-up, event management, tear-down and clean-up as related to special event programming at Coler.
• Salaried position. The preserve is open 365 days a year, staff coverage is required for holidays and weekends.

Who we are seeking:
• 3-4 years of supervisory experience
• 5-7 years of overall professional experience
• Minimum College undergraduate degree
• Inspires and motivates employees, instills trust and respect amongst all employees, and accepts feedback
• Vegetation management experience
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Ability to use common hand and power tools, operate small utility and passenger vehicles
• Exceptional customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Mountain bike experience and knowledge
• Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
• Successfully pass a background check and drug screening
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
