River Bend Administration is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Investment Operations Associate. The Investment Operations Associate will act on instructions from decision makers to initiate, coordinate, monitor and review the transactional activity of certain trust investments. This involves implementing parts of the process for secure transaction processing and includes coordinating with other stakeholders, completing accurate documentation, and developing a strong working knowledge of the origination and approval process for trust transactions. At times, the work environment is deadline driven. This is a great opportunity to play an important role to help build a growing organization. This position reports directly to the COO and works collaboratively with the other members of the team.
What you will do
The Investment Operations Associate is responsible for gathering, distributing, initiating and documenting investment transactions using bank online transaction systems and internal accounts payable software. A successful Investment Operations Associate will use knowledge of different asset classes and transaction types to complete responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Work with custodians, investment team and internal staff to gather, review and complete various investment transactions and documentation for trust portfolios
Monitor investment-related group email boxes for manager notifications, capital calls, correspondence, requests and reports. Download as needed from third-party websites
Review investment related documents and begin processing action-related items and/or route to various teams
Help refine the process for investment operations and create process documentation
Learn and use the proprietary accounts payable system to begin transaction activity with close attention to detail at every step
Monitor transactional activity from beginning to end and ensure complete accuracy with proper approvals and documentation
Act as main point of contact for investment team to monitor activity and process transactions as needed
Utilize manager portals and custodian online platforms to monitor trust transactions and cash flows and communicate openly with investment team and custodians
Maintain awareness of current investment holdings and appropriate contacts
Assist in gathering investment-related information for fiduciary reporting
Assist in development of Trust Content Management platform on SharePoint to save documented activities using designated tagging system
Help manage retention policy for investment-related documents
Complete ad hoc reports and requests as needed
Respond to questions and complete requests for internal and external stakeholders to support trust activities
Who we are looking for
Qualifications required for your success
5+ years of experience in trust, family office or investment operations, banking, or wealth management
Working knowledge of various asset classes including publicly traded securities, investment partnerships, hedge funds and private equity
Strong math skills and understanding of investment transaction processes and deadlines
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to contribute to team success
Able to adapt to new processes and software
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
Additional Helpful Experience and Qualifications Include
The ideal candidate has a background in investment operations and is engaged and interested in the operational aspects of trust administration.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
Familiarity with complex financial investments including partnerships, private equity and alternative investment funds and partnership accounting
Experience with or knowledge of accounts payable software and bank transaction systems
A team player who shows respect while collaborating with others
Results oriented and exercises sound judgment in your work
A lifelong learner, who is inquisitive and solves problems with creative thinking
