Housekeeper (Part-Time)

Job Description

Position Overview:

A private home residence, based in beautiful Lincoln Park, is seeking a dependable and experienced Housekeeper with a strong track record of providing general housekeeping duties. The housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the principal’s home to the highest standards and will report directly to the House Manager. The housekeeper will ensure that the home is always prepared for the principal and her guests.

What you will do:

• Thoroughly clean the entire home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and all living spaces
o Daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal task lists to also be provided

• Grocery shopping and running errands, as requested

• Stocking, organizing and cleaning kitchen and pantry areas

• Performing regular laundry and clothing care, including sending items to the dry cleaner

• Help perform regularly scheduled, preventative maintenance on all household appliances and technical systems
o House Manager to provide a schedule and instructions

• Consistently checking for damaged household goods, light bulb outages, technical problems, and any other household issues and reporting them to the House Manager in a timely manner:
o The hot water, television, built-in speakers, and temperature controls all must be checked the day before the principal or guests arrive

• Sorting trash, recycling and compost taking them out daily


Qualifications required for your success:

• 2-5 years of housekeeping experience
• Self-starter with strong communication skills
• Ability to pass extensive background checks and drug testing
• Willingness to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency in home automation systems preferred

Hours require flexibility:

• The principal is in residence approximately 75% of the time
• When the principal is in residence, the successful candidate will need to be flexible and available, working approximately 2 days each week for 8 hours at a time
• When the principal is not in residence, the successful candidate should be available 2-3 days a week for 4-5 hours at a time
