About the Family Office
Builders Vision is a family office dedicated to promoting a humane and healthy planet. Builders Vision includes a range of philanthropic and impact investing capabilities to support, seed and scale sustainable agriculture, food systems, renewable energy, ocean health, animal welfare, and the arts. Today it encompasses a family foundation (Builders Initiative), a venture and growth equity group (Builders Private Capital and S2G Ventures), and an asset management team (Builders Asset Management). The family office relies upon many shared services provided by a central office, Walton Enterprises, Inc. (WEI), with locations in Bentonville, AR, Denver, CO and Washington, DC. WEI serves the needs of the broader Walton family and works in partnership and collaboration with family offices of individual family members, including Builders Vision.

Position Summary
Builders Vision is seeking a curious, creative, and collaborative Systems Analyst. The Systems Analyst is responsible for helping our teams maximize the value of our systems and data, including but not limited to Salesforce (may also include systems such as Tableau, Google Cloud, Quip, and Box). This includes day-to-day duties such as data maintenance, reporting support, configuration changes and troubleshooting, as well as strategic projects which may include recommending system improvements and advising on future tool selection. The Systems Analyst will be a key player in helping our teams advance their use of data to build a stronger ecosystem of partners, enhance their understanding of the markets in which they operate, and develop and execute ambitious plans for driving positive change in the world.

The Systems Analyst must be enthusiastic about collaborating with diverse internal stakeholders to identify the best solutions, solving problems to optimize the way we use our systems and data, and rolling up their sleeves to support our teams as we seek to drive significant growth and impact.

The Systems Analyst must be able to work with diverse teams seeking tailored solutions to fit their needs. This includes direct investing (PE/VC), asset management, impact investing, and philanthropy (grantmaking). As these businesses have unique needs in terms of pipeline monitoring, deal management, and reporting, the Systems Analyst will need to continually learn about and apply best practices within each part of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

System & Data Enhancement
• Managing and executing enhancement requests in Salesforce and other systems
• Addressing and resolving functionality issues in Salesforce surfaced by team members
• Collaborating with our third-party Salesforce systems integrator and business team leads to design and implement significant new features or enhancements
• Proactively recommending improvements related to our systems and databases, including Salesforce and other tools that are integrated with the Salesforce ecosystem (including Cirrus Insight, Quip, FormAssembly, and others)

Data Maintenance
• Maintaining / cleansing data in Salesforce and other systems, including periodic reporting to check for data errors, duplicates, and other issues
• Creating a data hygiene practice for the organization
• Developing and maintaining data pipelines between systems, ensuring data integrity and synchronization across the organization
• Adding and maintaining user profiles in Salesforce, including security profiles and permissions
• Managing complex data sharing rules across multiple teams, maintaining private vs. shared fields on accounts where needed, managing privacy firewalls between teams for certain data, etc.
• Create custom reports and dashboards to drive business insights

Systems & Data Advisory
• Serving as an advisor to colleagues as they seek to solve business problems through systems- and data-related means, including collaborating with business leads, data science, and IT
• Planning and executing the development of system-driven solutions to business problems
• Leading data infrastructure planning, including making recommendations and executing work to support the long-term evolution of our Salesforce instance to better meet business needs
• Advising on and implementing future tool selection

Team & User Support
• Developing tools and processes to gather and address user feedback, and troubleshooting and supporting users facing technical challenges
• Developing and maintaining a knowledge base for training employees on how to use Salesforce and other tools, including general training for new employees as well as training and/or communicating new features for all employees
• Advising on best practices for governance, change management, and user experience

Basic Qualifications

Experience and Basic Qualifications
• 2-4 years of technology implementation, technology consulting, or data analytics experience
• Experience implementing or maintaining Salesforce Enterprise Edition (Spring 21 release) and/or other industry-specific software, preferably in an investing and/or philanthropy context
• Experience executing basic Salesforce configurations, including creating fields, editing fields, customizing page layouts, creating reports & dashboards, managing security profiles, working with third-party integrations, etc.
• Proficiency with data and related software (e.g. spreadsheet, data wrangling, data visualization, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and make recommendations about the optimal design and use of systems and databases
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and teams
• A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university
• Salesforce certification preferred
