The Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) model* is currently one of the most promising strategies for achieving durable protection of protected areas at scale while also benefiting the local communities that rely on them. ZOMALAB is part of a new, innovative collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, Pew Charitable Trusts, and World Wildlife Fund to accelerate the use of the PFP model around the world. The four institutions are working together to develop, manage, and close a portfolio of PFP deals over the next 10 years.

About the Position

You’ll join a top-notch team and innovative partnership committed to community economic development and the durable protection of millions of hectares of land and ocean. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, managing the completion of large-scale conservation deals following the Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) model.


What you will do

• Project Management (~85%):
o Develop and oversee project plans that result in the successful completion of large-scale, multi-stakeholder conservation deals around the world. Activities include but are not limited to:
o Lead project planning sessions and workshops
o Develop workplans and budgets
o Coordinate staff and internal resources
o Manage large and diverse teams
o Ensure the project meets its deadlines
o Ensure clear communication with external stakeholders
o Report out to leadership

• Facilitation & Advisory (~10%):
o Be a thought partner to advise & support the design of facilitation services for the PFP partnership
o Convene and own the design, administration and execution of group discussions, brainstorms and/or workshops (often virtually)

• Knowledge Management (~5%):
o Develop and maintain standardized tools and processes that can support the project management of future deals
o Identify, administer and/or support communication mechanisms to share information on common areas of interest
o Coordinate knowledge management efforts with the Managing Director of the partnership


Who we are looking for

Qualifications required for your success:

• 5 to 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and facilitate collaboration across multiple partners, institutions, and international cultures to achieve shared goals
• An ability to learn new information, synthesize that information, identify key themes, and convert to action-oriented tasks
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, specifically including active listening
• Strong time management and organizational skills including experience managing multiple project flows
• Experience with multi-party deals (analysis, development, negotiation, etc.)
• Experience working with PowerPoint, Excel, and project management software
• Experience in a consulting and/or investment firm, multi-lateral agency, or a global development contractor

Benefits Information*

Compensation Range: $90,000-120,000
