Senior Product Owner

Job Description

Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Product Owner. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to solve complex organizational software issues, is comfortable in a fast-paced, high-performing team and can capture requirements and design solutions while interfacing with family members, stakeholders, technologists and business users.


About the Position

You’ll join a top-notch technology team and provide business insights while supporting the WEI suite of software applications.


What you will do

You will evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and support software solutions for the WEI organization, family offices and family members.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with users to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
• Developing user stories.
• Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements.
• Participating in and/or leading Agile meetings including sprint planning, standups and retrospectives
• Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings
• Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
• Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements
• Understand and maintain organizational technology eco system configurations and documentation
• Performing user acceptance testing.
• Determining operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and designing scalable, repeatable business processes where technology can help
• Providing Level 2 and 3 support of a variety of inhouse and third-party built applications
• Responding to user questions/issues via telephone call, email, and ticketing system
• Participating in and sometimes leading change management activities
• Developing training materials


Who we are looking for

Qualifications required for your success

• At least 5 years of work experience in management, finance or accounting, process improvement or IT
• Experience working on an agile software development team
• Broad understanding of business and application software
• Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
• Proven ability to analyze and solve business problems
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
• Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view

The Technology Solutions Department provides a suite of services including software support, custom application development and tools for software integration. These services are provided to Walton Enterprises, the Walton Family Foundation and to Walton Family Entities.
