Walton Enterprises (WEI) is seeking a skilled, highly motivated individual to join the team as a Paralegal. About the Position

You will join a top-notch team and be responsible for assisting in the operations of the WEI legal team. An individual in this position is expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.


What you will do

You will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support to the legal team in an environment where superior client service is emphasized, including by supporting attorneys, conducting research, preparing documentation, creating, and maintaining document management systems, supporting scheduling, and performing other duties necessary to support the legal needs for WEI.

Responsibilities

• Provides broad support to the legal team by interfacing with internal clients and often serving as the client point of contact; managing legal files; maintaining templates and sample/model forms; helping implement processes and policies.
• Drafts, revises, and prepares all kinds of legal documents, including regulatory filings, reports, bylaws, correspondence, contracts, charters, grant agreements, and other general corporate and nonprofit matters.
• Conducts research and analysis about legal, regulatory, and business-related topics, and prepares memoranda, summaries, and presentations regarding the same.
• Helps attorneys track federal and state statutory and regulatory developments applicable to tax-exempt organizations and their individual and for-profit partners and funders.
• Provides administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling meetings and calls; coordinating with internal team members and outside parties; providing status updates on legal processes and matters; assisting in the prioritization of various tasks within different legal processes; ensuring that attorneys are aware of pending deadlines; and assisting with budgeting, time, and invoice review.
• Other matters and responsibilities as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications required for your success

• Bachelor’s degree required
• One (1) year of total professional work experience preferred
• Proficient in MS Office, you know your way around Excel
• Demonstrated proficiency in accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through on assigned tasks
• Able to manage confidential information with discretion

About the Legal Department

The Walton Enterprises legal team provides legal advice to the Walton family and its interests in several areas. These areas include estate planning, compliance, investment activity, asset acquisition, and charitable efforts. In addition to the family, the legal team also advises the Walton Family Foundation, each family member’s individual foundations, and each family member’s for-profit entities.
