The Development Coordinator is a full-time member of the Peel Compton Foundation Development team and reports directly to the Director of Development. The position works with the Development team, employees and external constituents to promote the PCF and its mission. S/he is responsible for executing Foundation events and fundraisers to audiences within the local community. S/he solicits vendors and sponsors for all foundation events and site programming.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and execute theme and timeline for all PCF Foundation events
Work collaboratively with members of the development team, and committee members to plan and execute the main fundraisers, on all PCF properties to achieve fundraising goals.
Solicit donations and in-kind sponsorships for PCF programs, collaborate with internal stakeholders and communicate with sponsors
Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders and sponsors, as well as professional working relationships with teammates and staff members from other departments.
Responsible for maintaining budget, planning event logistics, gathering ideas, and helping promote and market fundraising events
Ability to problem solve on day of event
Build and maintain relationships with all appropriate vendors and sponsors for a public or private event
Coordinate with staff and attendants, attendees, and committee members, and help committee assess events and programs
Writes and/or edits content needed for invitations and event notifications, including sponsorship materials and contracts.
Reports regularly to the Development Committee concerning events and sponsorship strategies and initiatives.
Supports and attends Foundation development team efforts.
Performs other duties, as assigned by the Director of Development.
Manage, track and report on event fundraising results to ensure organizational objectives are met
Maintain records of donors, participants, and sponsor contacts in our Bloomerang system

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
Must be a motivated, self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to tailor messages for different audiences
2+ years of experience in an event capacity or fundraising capacity
Degree in Development, Marketing, Communications, or English
Proficiency in computer software related to word-processing, presentations and spreadsheets
Knowledge of donor content-management systems is preferred
Familiarity with social-media channels (including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram) is preferred
Maintaining event support systems including databases, mailing lists, etc.
Ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, respond positively to changing conditions and prioritize work appropriately
Must be a team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building for the PCF both internally and externally
Ability to work independently with little supervision
