About the Position
You will join a world-class family office investment team, operating in a fast-paced environment, as leader of its non-investment functions including operations, administration, information technology, compliance, and operational risk management. The organization is currently working remotely during the Covid pandemic.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities Include:
Team Management and Operations
Manage the associates responsible for non-investment functions.
Hands-on development and management of business and operational infrastructure and control processes for the investment
Prepare annual budgeting and cost projections for investment operations and investigate budget to actual variances.
Manage accounting process for investment team – procurement, accounts payable,
Work with IT department to automate and improve systems and processes.
Lead implementation and maintenance of tools including document management, research management, and CRM
Monitor and review internal trading functions.
Serve on the Valuation Committee and enhance valuation policies and procedures.
Collaborate with the investment team and other stakeholders on business and operational initiatives including evaluation of organizational priorities and structure.
Oversee Operational Due Diligence function.
Vehicle Formation
Oversee the process of new investment vehicle formation and
Coordinate internal and external resources to navigate and address potential legal, tax, and operational
Service Provider/Vendor Relationship Management
Conduct due diligence and comparative analyses for the selection of all third-party service
Negotiate fees and service agreements with all
Evaluate individual counterparty relationships on an ongoing basis to determine the allocation of business to
Serve as the primary point of contact and manage relationships with service
Fund Oversight and Management
Oversee fund accounting and administration of monthly NAV processes for multiple pooled investment vehicles.
Help negotiate investment management agreements and side letters with external fund managers.
Develop and oversee procedures for fund performance reporting.
Trading Operations, Treasury, & Compliance
Assist in streamlining trade communication and trade capture
Evaluate and improve daily trade flow as Coordinate with portfolio management, trading, and operations to ensure an efficient, scalable, workflow.
Assess external operational software, tools, and utilities as
Optimize use of third-party administrator technology, custodial, and middle office
Oversee treasury process including PB/counterparty cash and collateral management, securities lending/stock borrow process,
Work closely with the legal department to develop and implement compliance procedures and best practices, conduct periodic risk assessments and oversee regulatory reporting.
Reporting
Streamline and ensure timely and accurate monthly performance reporting in coordination with accounting, legal, external managers, custodians, and third-party administrators.
Prepare and distribute other reports and/or analysis as needed.

Qualifications required for your success
Seasoned financial services executive with 10+ years of experience managing and directing a variety of non-investment functions at a family office, fund, or RIA.
Possession of deep investment related operational knowledge, exceptional technological savvy, a hands-on orientation and work ethic, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Thorough understanding of multi-asset trade cycles and corresponding operational processes including marketable securities, private equity and private investments.
Demonstrated capability to design an operational template for the team, supervise its implementation and develop a process for continuous improvement.
In-depth knowledge of available technology products, service providers, and resources.
Experience in designing multi-asset fund and account structures to meet the needs of a wide array of investors (taxable, non-taxable, public, private).
Knowledge of partnership accounting, closed-end fund structures (closes, capital calls, distributions), private investment fee structures (management fees, carried interest, claw back), and private portfolio company investment transactions.
Accounting systems experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of US GAAP with an emphasis on private funds and partnerships.
Knowledge of tax-related topics with partnerships.
Strong Excel skills.
Ability to multi-task and lead several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills identifying and resolving complex issues in an effective and time sensitive manner.
Manage highly confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the firm on complex projects.
Family office experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required. Graduate degree or applicable certification preferred (MBA, CPA, JD, CFA).
