About the Position

River Bend Administration is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and analytical individual to join the organization as a Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity for the right person to help build a growing organization. This position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and works collaboratively with the other members of our family’s advisory team.


What you will do

The Senior Accountant will work collaboratively with the Director of Accounting, other members of the existing family trust company (“FTC”) team, and other family advisory teams to perform the accounting and fiduciary reporting functions for the FTC. Responsibilities and duties include:

• Maintaining cash registers to track and reconcile investment activity weekly between source documents, custody statements, and the Company’s internal trust accounting system
• Reconcile bank/trust accounts on a monthly basis
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items timely
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the trusts and family trust company
• Prepare fiduciary accounting (P&I) reports to meet family and regulatory requirements
• Review and analyze transactions and accounts using technical judgement to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately
• Prepare journal entries for investments, trust distributions, expenses and other transactions
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate accounting ledgers, reconciliations, and books and records
• Provide support to tax department for compliance and tax return preparation
• Provide support to trust administration department
• Assist with preparation of ad hoc reporting requests
• Perform other duties as required and necessary to accomplish goals and objectives

Qualifications required for your success

The Senior Accountant must possess the following professional qualifications:

• Bachelors’ degree in accounting or related field
• Strong technical skills, including knowledge of general ledger systems and Office365 including Excel (use of pivot tables) and SharePoint
• 3-5 years’ work experience in an accounting role


Additional Helpful Experience Includes

• Work experience at a Big 4 firm, investment advisory firm, or family office
• Experience with fiduciary accounting with a law firm, accounting firm, or trust company
• CPA certification preferred
• Familiarity with complex financial investments including partnerships, private equity and alternative investment funds and partnership accounting
• Experience with or knowledge of Microsoft GP and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365
