About the Position
You will assist with the financial and operational activities for a multitude of investment portfolio entities.
What you will do
You will learn, grow, and contribute – building new relationships and discovering the satisfaction that comes with producing high-quality, valued work and advice. You will assist in training, mentoring, and supervising staff as well as participate in an contribute to the goals of the department.
Responsibilities
Analyze, review, and prepare financial statements and related schedules ensuring accounting procedures and methods are followed
Maintain and oversee cash balances and activity including coordinating with other associates to ensure timely payment and high-quality input to accounting software
Oversee, review, and prepare journal entries for activity including investment transactions, accruals, amortization, payroll, etc.
Delegate and collaborate with Accountants to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting
Provide support to tax department for compliance and tax return preparation
Collaborate with other departments to prepare financial package presentations and build customized reports for ongoing needs and projects
Prepare multi-faced information/analysis for other departments as needed
Analyze and prepare recommendations to management on process improvement
Participate in mentoring and training activities and work reviews
Perform other duties as required and necessary to accomplish goals and objectives
Who we are looking for
Qualifications required for your success
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Minimum 5 years’ work experience in an accounting role within a professional setting
CPA certification or master’s degree preferred or a minimum of 8 years’ work experience in an accounting role withing a professional setting
Strong technical skills, including knowledge and use of Accounting Software, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Additional Helpful Experience Includes
Experience using Microsoft Business Central, Solver Reporting, and SharePoint
Prefer work experience with business/individual tax preparation

About the Investment Accounting Department
The InvestmentAccounting Department provides a suite of services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, investment accounting, and grants administration. The accounting team supports the family households, Walton Enterprises, and the Walton Family Foundation.
