Walton Enterprises is seeking a qualified Investment Associate/Analyst to join the Walton Investment Team (WIT), in Bentonville. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a dynamic and growing investment office managing family investments and foundations, with a focus on marketable manager research. The ideal candidate will be someone who has 2-4 years of work experience within the field.

About the Team
Walton Investment Team is a dynamic and growing team that specializes in managing family investments. Our talented team is located across Bentonville, AR, Washington, DC, and Denver, CO. We work as a team to develop, implement, and oversee investment strategies. We are seeking to expand and grow our team with skilled and qualified talent.
What you will do
You will support our Managing Directors in the sourcing and due diligence of external investment managers, with a focus on manager selection across public market asset classes. The position involves quantitative analysis with a strong qualitative component. This is a great opportunity to gain broad exposure to asset classes and investment strategies, while being exposed to the many facets of portfolio management.
Help to lead the research and decision-making process behind investments, asset allocation and overall portfolio structure
Help to lead the development and presentation of scalable investment strategies
Help to identify high-quality, proprietary investment prospects aligned with the family’s investment priorities and strategies
Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment strategies, market and competitive analysis, analysis of investment merits and concerns, perform holdings and returns-based analysis
Produce written materials to communicate the above investment analysis to staff
Produce written reports for presentation to family members for use in making hiring/firing decisions for outside investment managers
Build and maintain relationships with existing external investment managers
Implement and oversee ongoing monitoring and oversight of existing external managers, including analyzing financial information received and responding to any news events as necessary

Qualifications required for your success
Bachelors’ or graduate degree with a record of high academic achievement. Backgrounds may vary; however, candidates must be comfortable with basic financial concepts and enjoy quantitative work. While no educational background in finance or accounting is required, typical backgrounds might include economics, accounting, finance, business, mathematics, computer science.
Up to 4 years of work experience, ideally in roles with significant research and analytical responsibilities (e.g., investment management or research)
Strong technical and computing skills, including knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with analytics software such as FactSet, Bloomberg, and Evestment is preferred; R and Python a plus\
Walton Enterprises supports and encourages the pursuit of CFA, CAIA, and other professional designations
Travel will be required for this position in order to conduct new and ongoing manager due diligence
