VP, Admin and Finance - Whole Health School of Medicine

Job Description

Who We Are

The goal of Whole Health School of Medicine and Health Sciences (WHSOM) is to reimagine medical education in America by creating a pipeline of medical professionals trained in conventional medicine and Whole Health concepts - an approach to health that equips and empowers individuals to actively optimize their own mental, physical, and spiritual health and well-being in collaboration with an integrated team of healthcare providers. Together, we will lead the transformation of healthcare to build a more whole and healthy society.

Job Summary

The Whole Health School of Medicine has initiated a nationwide search for an innovative and accomplished administrator to serve as its Founding Vice President for Administration and Finance. This is a unique opportunity for a respected and experienced administrative and financial leader who understands the current state of medical education and appreciates the need to transform it to meet the needs of today's patients, students, faculty, and community of physicians/providers. This leader will work as a key member of a group of founding academic executives, who together will launch an extraordinary new medical school designed to offer much more than a conventional medical education.

The Vice President for Administration and Finance will report to the Dean and have significant independent responsibility for planning and managing services associated with the design, launch, and operations of the Whole Health School of Medicine. As a new medical school, WHSOM is in the process of planning, hiring, and operationalizing its administration, obtaining regional and national accreditation, and preparing to matriculate its first class of students. The Vice President for Administration and Finance will take a leadership role in the establishment and continued management of the School, directing the planning and implementation of all operational aspects of the WHSOM, readying the School's administrative and financial functions for its inaugural class, and managing them on an ongoing basis.

The Vice President for Administration and Finance will lead the School's administrative staff and oversee the activities of its administrative offices and financial operations. She/he will supervise the Directors of Facilities Services, Safety and Security, Communication and Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology Services and oversee the development and operations of those offices. In addition, the Vice President will be responsible for the design, implementation, and supervision of new administrative roles in the School of Medicine. She/he will collaborate with the Dean and other key internal and external leaders and committees in decision-making and management related to the above administrative functions. She/he will facilitate key administrative linkages between WHSOM and internal and external partners, as well as linkages between WHSOM students/faculty and internal and external partners. She/he will ensure that WHSOM operations and messaging are consistent with the strategic plan and synchronized with the vision and mission of the school.
