Blue Crane, a development and real estate company headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as Director of Development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban commercial and residential development.

Specific Job Responsibilities
Effect Blue Crane’s purpose which is “To create places for humanity to flourish in NWA”.
Lead and support Blue Crane’s internal development team and partner with the Blue Crane leadership team to develop talent within the organization.
Manage complex development projects to achieve Blue Crane’s goals which are (1) on-time delivery (2) on-budget delivery (3) institutional quality designed to maximize long-term free cash flow and (4) elevated design.
Support Runway’s strategy team with an “on-the-ground” perspective of current real estate conditions and performance.
Help Blue Crane develop metrics to measure project and building quality which is critical to our long-term success.
Lead acquisitions and leasing efforts associated with new developments. Coordinate with asset management teams through and after development.
Support and manage existing real estate development with third-party “partner developers” in partnership with real estate investment team.
Assist in the creation and management of organizational processes to enable the organization to scale.
Perform complex financial analyses of prospective real estate investments. Use analyses to formulate partnership structures and make investment recommendations.
Lead creation of project approval memos for presentation to investment committee.
Contribute to the development of investment strategies, prospecting, and analysis of real estate investment projects.
Work closely with the broader Runway team to coordinate and achieve its mission to: “sustainably develop and transform the Northwest Arkansas region into a dynamic “lifestyle” metropolitan area with a unique culture that reflects our heritage and natural beauty”.
Think creatively and holistically about real estate strategies for the NWA community
Coordinate with members of Blue Crane and affiliates PR and communications team to provide information about various real estate projects.
Identify future staffing and resource needs to help Blue Crane scale to meet the objectives of the community, ownership, and the organization.

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of experience in real estate development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
