About the Position
You’ll join a top-notch team and assist the lead Event Planner and the Property Management team with designing and coordinating memorable, educational, engaging, and/or fun events and experiences for a wide range of family members. Regarding this role, no task is too small, and the devil is in the details! This team member is an out-of-the-box thinker who will be able to provide creative ideas and see them through. They must maintain a professional attitude and always provide outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
Assist in designing and executing various family related meetings, activities, special events and conferences from small, intimate gatherings to 400-person, multi-day offsite events (local, domestic, international)
Assist with coordinating event logistics, including venue research, audio visual, food and beverage, entertainment, activities, transportation, and other operational needs
Coordinate event related collateral development, such as agendas, executive briefings, meeting books, etc.
Handle issues and troubleshoot emerging problems during planning and on event days
Provide specialized concierge services as needed for the family and their guests
Coordinate other services needed by the family; assisting with preparations and planning for ad hoc special events and other special requests by family members as needed
Tracking and maintaining database of preferred third-party vendors
Assist with accounting and reporting on event budgets
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to principals, contractors, company leaders, and other departments supporting events
Assist in sourcing and coordinating 3rd party contractors
Expected Hours of Work
This opportunity is a career-oriented position. 75% of your time will be working standard Monday through Friday standard operating hours. During events you are likely to work longer hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Qualifications required for your success
Associates or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Design, Communications, or a related field
Minimum three years events experience
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to drive a vehicle
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasionally lift at least 25 pounds

About the Property Management Department
The Property Management team assists the family members with all property related activities including acquisition, design, and development. They manage a variety of properties including both personal and commercial real estate, vehicles, equipment, and other property related assets throughout the country. The Property Management team also supports the Walton Family Foundation and Walton Enterprises office buildings.
